Special Patterned Decorative Mineral Coating

DESCRIPTION

Mineral-based, specially formulated, high-strength decorative coating for interior and exterior facade surfaces. Thanks to its unique granular structure, it provides a self-patterned appearance on the surface. Various textures and looks can be achieved on the surface using suitable application techniques with steel trowel, decorative trowel, or special rollers according to its structure.

  • For 20 kg powder: 5.5 – 6 liters of water

  • For 10 kg powder: 2.5 – 3 liters of water

• Consumption: 2.0 – 2.5 kg/m² (for 2 mm thickness)

• Waiting Time Before Second Coat: 4 hours

• Full Drying Time: 2-3 days

• Compressive Strength: ≥ 5.0 N/mm²

• Adhesion Strength: Concrete: ≥ 2.0 N/mm²

• Flexural Strength: ≥ 2.0 N/mm²

The above values are valid at +23°C and 50% relative humidity. Times shorten at higher temperatures and lengthen at lower temperatures.

APPLICATION AREAS

Suitable for cement-based plaster surfaces on both exterior and interior facades of all buildings, on outdoor panels, exterior insulation systems, mineral interior surfaces, and drywall panels as a final decorative coating. Suitable for vertical applications.

Preferred for stores, shopping centers, showrooms, offices, restaurants, cafes, hotels, and residences to achieve decorative appearances.

APPLICATION METHOD

Surface Preparation:
Remove all dust, loose layers, dirt, oil, etc. The surface must be clean, smooth, and solid.

If outdoor panels such as Boardex are present, surfaces should be primed with PERLIGHT Transition Primer. After 24 hours of primer application, apply flexible joint tape to panel joints.

For loose, blistered, or cracked surfaces, cracks should be filled and the surface repaired with cement-based BETONITE MORTAR TECH – F (fine) or BETONITE MORTAR TECH – T (thick) Repair Mortar.

Before application, the surface must be moistened and saturated with water in hot or windy conditions.

Application:
Mix 20 kg of BETONITE BLANCO with approximately 5.5 – 6 liters of clean water (or 10 kg with 2.5 – 3 liters) using a low-speed mixer until a homogeneous consistency is achieved. Let the mortar rest for 5 minutes, then remix. Apply BETONITE BLANCO evenly on the surface using a stainless steel trowel; thickness should match the largest pattern stone. After 4 hours, apply the second coat. For special patterns, create the desired texture with a decorative trowel and after 15 minutes lightly scrape the surface to achieve the desired texture. Patterning must always be done while the mortar is wet.

Optionally, after drying, apply a topcoat paint according to the pattern and color. Choose appropriate products for painting and use PERLIGHT Coloring System to tint and paint the surface. For exterior surfaces, use PERLIGHT Exterior Topcoat Paints; for interior surfaces, use PERLIGHT Interior Topcoat Paints or BETONITE Acrylic-Based Decorative Paints. Use decorative tools suitable for the pattern to apply color and texture.

If painted, apply BETONITE PROCOAT Clear Protective Coating in two coats without thinning 24 hours after paint application, or if left unpainted, apply after mineral surface drying.

CAUTIONS:

• Follow the recommended water ratios and resting times strictly.

• Avoid application under direct sunlight.

• Do not mix hardened materials into freshly prepared mortar.

• Do not apply below +5°C or above +35°C.

• Avoid application on surfaces with freezing or risk of freezing within 24 hours, especially in humid or hot conditions.

PACKAGING:
Available in 10 and 20 kg plastic buckets.

REQUIRED TOOLS:
Steel trowel, decorative trowel, hand mixer, brush.

STORAGE AND SHELF LIFE:
Store unopened in a cool, dry place with a maximum of one pallet stacked. Shelf life is 12 months from production date under proper storage conditions.
